When real-life quidditch was adapted in 2005, it was a tongue-in-cheek experiment by college freshmen. Today, teams wear sports uniforms, tryouts are mandatory, and over 150 teams compete for the chance to qualify for our national championship, which is attended by thousands of spectators. How can US Quidditch continue to embrace our fandom roots while also living up to the high sports standards its athletes expect? This presentation will seek the answer to this question and more.
