This lecture will be an exploration of masculinity in Hunter culture within Supernatural. We will discuss masculinity since World War II, the development of hypermasculinity, gender relations, sexism and misogyny, sexuality, LGBT references and homophobia, the importance of family, the nomadic culture of Hunters, and the effect of their childhood and upbringing on Dean and Sam as adults. We will also discuss John Winchester and his abuse of his sons.
